RT - After oweek pre-camp..

My voice is still hoarse, not from shouting but from eating sand at Sentosa. Sleep was a luxury and I slept everywhere I went. In the van, on the beach, along the walkways. Anywhere, you name it, I've probably done it. But working with the people I've grown to like hanging out with made it all good. While the times for the activities were rather tight, I think it should be fine by the time the actual camp starts.

Here are some of my oweek pre-camp MVPs, I'm being impartial here, and I'm sure whoever has been through the same would agree:

Yanwei: Ever reliable, he covers sand and covers sea (translate to hokkien). While everybody else went home, he stayed overnight to return the stuff, like the tug-of-war ropes, the sound system etc, we borrowed as well as the rented van.

May: I was very moved when she rescheduled her tuition to help the camp out and stayed up through the night to help with the retying of the tug-of-war ropes despite being rather worn out herself.

Boonheng: Great organizational skills and a wonderful logger. Working with him makes my life as a fellow logger a breeze with him holding the fort while I "NL".

Love love to the exco (Adrian, Yuanling, Desmond, Grace, Alson), the programmers (Daryl, Lysia, Febrin, Carmelita, Shuli, Jingchun, Christabel, Kaixian, Weewee, Sianghoon, Raymond), the admin team (Adeline, Alvin, Sze Hwei, Xiuting, Wanching, Daisy, Celeste, Ben), the log crew (Lamlam, Marilyn Ho, Evon, Boonheng, Yanwei, Kaijit, Yiheng) and last but not least, the dedicated helpers (Marilyn Huang, Marcus, Nikki, Ryan, Ivan, Cyan and Zikang) too.

The two things which I felt lacking though was the incorporation of the new members into the original arts camp crew and commitment. I felt bad when I saw Sean, Wanching, Xiuting, Lamlam and Marilyn Ho standing around and keeping to themselves while the rest of us were chilling within the cliques. And while personal commitments might clash with the camp and pre-camp days, I feel that it is not an excuse to be perpetually absent without even dropping by, especially if the reasons provided aren't legitimate ones. Pre-camp for the ocomm spanned 3 days. I can understand if one does not show up on the weekdays because of work, but day zero was a Sunday and I think the ocomm could have used all the help that could have been present, especially the exco.

RT - The last few days

Sometimes I think I might actually develop some kind of strange illness from inhaling all that paint/glue/thinner/marker and the like. But rag has been yet another exhilarating adventure. It's always exciting to make new friends while lazing around and doing a little something, contributing to a greater cause. I feel like I can make a difference; which is why I have joined the various organizations that I am currently affiliated with.

I told Jj today during our run that I wanted to lead a different sort of life when I've settled down, and I'm glad that I'm right on track. Before, I would have probably idled my way through this ridiculously long holiday, which sadly is coming to an end. But I've done something and I've made a great group of new friends.

The only grouse I've had thus far, would be the dismal state of the clubroom and the bedbug paranoia that is slowly setting in. I don't want to sleep on those sofas anymore.

I need to spend more time with DD too!

*hurls a slipper at SMU*

In other related news, I've just completed the module preference exercise. But I'm a tad worried as I feel that what I hope to have preallocated is still incomplete at the moment. The website for the SASP does not look very updated, and the modules that form my minor are non-existent this semester. My only alternatives are basic Tamil and Tamil Studies; in which I cannot qualify for the latter as I have not taken AO level Tamil. I hope they increase the number of modules that can comprise my minor like they promised last semester. On the up side however, modules from the SASP are rather easy to bid for. They usually go for a relatively modest token sum.

RT - Arts camp 09!

Arts camp has been a blast, even with all the work and fatigue that came with it. There have been a number of memorable experiences that I will treasure always. Things like playing the white helmet, living in Eusoff hall, teasing people during SP, screaming at the back of Mg's van and getting impaled by the table legs a la tombraider style, hanging out at PLAY, making fun of a drunk Daryl, being station IC for FTG and PSI and being a part of the vomit crew. It's an experience money can't buy.

I look forward to working with this group of people once again, especially Yw, Zk, Lysia, Cyan, Evon, May, Marilyn, Grace, Bev, Daryl, Alson, Adrian and Daisy in the future.

Last but not least, I am deeply indebted to Bh for roping me into this wonderful ocomm.

RT - Conflicting times

I'm running helter-skelter almost all of the time during the holidays. And I feel so bad leaving my girlfriend to her own devices most of the time. The worst thing about it all would be the fact that our schedules clash. Arts camp and orientation week take up a huge chunk of my time whereas my girlfriend's work and driving lessons, along with all the orientation programmes she is expected to attend, take up hers.

I'm trying really hard to make time for everything but it has been difficult. It is akin to trying to grab an eel with bare hands.

IaN - 210609 (2)

Some really big boss (a cyclops actually) that needed a party of 4 or 5 to cull.

He has 126,000 hp, almost 25 times of what I currently have at the moment.

Check my facebook photos for more updates. I am so looking forward to re-viewing the slew of NG takes throughout the filming! And I really like the people in Arts Club.

Late nights aren't very good for me though. So is all the junk food which I've been ingesting. My cheeks are swelling like a person suffering from mumps.

6 days to Arts Camp, I hope what Bh promised comes true.

Weight loss!

IaN - 160609

I've had alot of fun today dressing up as Ron Weasley and having my hair sprayed blond. I know I'm a rather terrible actor though. But it was fun all the same, especially during the NG takes. I need to work out some time soon, my knees can feel my belly pressing against them when I wipe my ass. It wasn't like this before.

Sorry DD for neglecting you..

IaN - 140609

Alright, things are moving into full swing with the registration for Arts Camp 2009 on Saturday. And I shelled out a buttload of moolah for WOTLK (go figure).

Filming for orientation week starts tomorrow and I've yet to procure my set of dark colored cardigans and beige long sleeved t-shirt.

Anyone want to loan me a set?
